Japanese startup MicroJet has obtained licenses from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism to begin operating international charter flights using small business jets to short-haul Asian destinations in September 2024. MicroJet plans to start flights to South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong using its 11.77-year-old Cessna 510, registered under the Japanese registration number JA123F (msn 510-0428). The airline has been offering domestic business and pleasure charters since it began operations in October of last year. In a statement dated August 2, 2024, the airline said,
“We will expand the scope of our business overseas and meet the needs of corporate business travel and special overseas travel.” Data from ADS-B flight tracking indicates that JA123F consistently operates a relatively low number of flights. The aircraft can carry four people and has a 2,161-kilometer cruising range. MicroJet states that the aircraft’s compact size enables it to achieve low operating costs, allowing them to offer reasonable prices to customers.
